Alwar Government Museum
Alwar Government Museum in the palace is the only place where the kingly elegance is preserved in its entirety. Divided in to three sections, the City Palace Museum displays royal treasures of the erstwhile Alwar rulers. These artifacts are the true testimonials of the prosperity of Alwar kings. Armory collections in the museum exhibit some of the precious artifacts like the sword of Akbar, Sultan Mohammad Ghori and Aurangzeb. Besides the arms and ammunition sections, this museum displays a peacock shaped sitar, ancient manuscripts and sculptures. Government Museum, at former city palace. Rs 3; Free on Mondays.

Bala Quila Fort
Bala Quila Fort is one of the few forts build in Rajasthan prior to the rise of the Mughals. Permission from the superintendant of police is required prior to visiting.


City Palace Complex
An architectural marvel, which blends the Mugal and Rajasthani styles, Vinay Vilas Palace is a must see spectacle in Alwar. It is placed just below the fort. Most alluring attraction in this palace complex is the exquisitely carved Durbar hall, which welcomes the visitors to this former citadel of Alwar kings. This pretty hall encompasses a small room, which exhibits marvelous frescos and it should be borne in mind that special permission from the present king is necessary to have a glimpse of that rare artwork.

Jaisamand Lake
Jaisamand Lake located in Alwar City. Jaisamand Lake is One of the popular picnic spot in Alwar, this lake presents an embankment of 1.5 kilometers. It is believed that this lake was constructed to arrest the soak of waters from Ruparel River and acclaimed as the second largest artificial lake in Asia. A large island in the middle of the lake with verdant grassland presents eye catching spectacle to all the visitors.

Karni Mata Temple
Karni Mata Temple is one of the remarkable sacred spots in entire India itself, Karni Mata temple boast of a unique tradition. Built in the late Mughal style, this temple is dedicated to Karni Mata. The temple presents exemplary artwork. It is considered lucky if one would come across with a white rodent during the Darshan in the temple.

Moosi Maharani ki Chhatri
Moosi Maharani ki Chhatri located in Alwar City. It is the royal cenotaph of Maharaja Bakhtawar Singh and his Queen Rani Moosi. This striking monument is placed out side the main palace building. Highly ornamented interiors with marvelous wall paintings are worn out by lack of proper maintenance. Besides an architectural grandeur, this chhatri is placed in a picturesque location that is full of lush foliage and thriving flowers.


Moti Doongri Park
Moti Doongri is famous for its swanky palace, the Ganesh and Lakshmi Narayan temples. The palace at the uphill was a small fortress earlier and it was renovated by Sawai Man Singh II. Monti Doongri palace is built in the style of a Scottish castle and its peculiar architecture is worth mentioning. Moti Doongri palace was used to be the venue of great parties during the time of Sawai Man Singh II.

Naldeshwar
Naldeshwar located in the suburban of Alwar city, Naldeshwar is a picturesque locale, which is renowned for an ancient Mahadeva Temple. This lovely village is bounded by pebbly peaks and natural vegetations and it offers a mesmerizing charm during monsoon. The sacred temple at Naldeshwer presents architectural grandeur. The access to the temple itself is an alluring attraction, since it offers a lovely trek amidst lush greenery. This panoramic location stood amazingly imposing during monsoon season.


Pandupol Hanuman Temple
A place where 'Pandvas' stayed at the time of agyatvaas. There is a hanuman temple which have the unique hanuman idol(in the form of relax). it is placed in the middle of sariska jungle.

Saagar Lake
Saagar Lake is located just behind the City Palace, Sagar lake was constructed in 1815 AD. Sagar lake has been able to withstand the beatings of time. Over centuries, people has been following the sacred tradition of feeding the pigeons. It is this lovely pond that separates the City Palace from the surrounding pebbly hills. This beautiful lake houses some marvelous shrines and an array of gorgeous cenotaphs on its banks. These monuments along with the glittering waters of the lake present a rejuvenating environment to the visitors.

Sariska Tiger Reserve
The Sariska Tiger Reserve is one of the most famous national parks in India located in the Alwar district of the state of Rajasthan. It was given the status of a tiger reserve making it a part of India"s Project Tiger scheme. Some of the wildlife found in the Sariska Tiger Reserve include the Bengal tiger, leopard, jungle cat, caracal, striped hyena, golden jackal, chital, sambhar, nilgai, chinkara, four-horned antelope "chousingha", wild boar, hare, hanuman langur, and plenty of bird species and reptiles. The reserve"s tiger population disappeared in 2005. However, the relocation programme started in 2008.

Siliserh Lake
Siliserh Lake spans over a wide expansion of seven sq kms. This lake poses as an imposing backdrop to the Siliserh palace. The lake has an inspiring mix of breathtaking beauty and architectural charisma. This pretty lake is festooned with domed cenotaphs, which themselves boast of a grandeur in architecture. The lake is a hot spot of challenge loving people since it presents a perfect track for angling.

Talvriksha
Talvriksha in the Narayanjii Road needs special mention. It is situated at the northern periphery of the famous Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary. Talvriksha gives a soothing feeling to not only the pious people but also to those who came there to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.

Purjan Vihar
Also known as the company garden, the Purjan Garden was laid down by Maharaja Shiv Dan Singh in 1868. The garden boasts of an area where temperature normally remains lower than other places throughout the year. This place was built by Mangal Singh in 1885 AD. There is another Moosi Maharani ka Chhatri located here.

Vijai Mandir Palace
Around 10 km from Alwar is the beautiful Vijay Mandir Palace. The place was constructed by Majaraja Jai Singh in the 1918 AD and has a splendid temple dedicated to Lord Ram and Sita. The temple becomes a centre of attraction during the festival of Ramnavmi. Prior permission needs to be obtained from the secretary to visit the palace.

Moti Dongri
Situated on the edges of the town, this palace was built in the year 1882 and served as the main residence of the Maharajas of Alwar. However, in 1928, Maharaja Jai Singh, with an intention of building a better palace got in demolished. The new palace never got built since the cargo carrying raw materials from Europe sunk. The palace with its ruins bears a desolated look today.
